Padma Shri Manoj Joshi said “Paan-masale waale awards ki mujhe padhi hi nhi hai”

Actor Manoj Joshi is honoured with Padma Shri Award and feeling so happy about it but when it comes to bollywood awards, he doesn’t bother so much. He has been seen in many superhit films like Bhool Bhulaiya (2007), Golmaal (2006), Phir Hera Pheri (2006), etc, still hasn’t got recognised as he should be.

Joshi shared his emotions when he got to know that he will be honoured with Padma Shri Award, “I can’t put it in words. It’s a great feeling when the nation recognises your talent and hard work. I got a call out of the blue from the government about this, and I started crying. The hard work I’ve put in the past 33 years, all flashed in front of my eyes. I thank every small or big technician, co-stars, directors, and especially my wife Charu, who has always been there for me, and dedicate this award to all of them.”

The actor was asked the reason that he hasn’t won even a single award in any bollywood shows, he replied, “Paan-masala waale awards ki mujhe padhi hi nahi hai. Mujhe woh award ya nomination mile ya na mile, koi farak nahi padta. Is there any honour bigger than (the Padma Shri)?”

Manoj Joshi is the only actor to receive the Padma Shri Award in 2018. And he also won the National Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2017 for the Marathi film “Dashakriya”.
