Arjun Kapoor finds celeb’s prices very crass and rude

Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor feels pay disparity in industry is a sensitive topic to talk about, but at the same time, he also finds it “crass and rude” to reveal one’s pay check. Arjun said that for many years, it has been male protagonist who has been generating business and catching the attention of the viewers, moreover, bringing them to cinema halls to watch films.

The actor stated, “We are not saying that if you give them (actress) more money, we will not work. I have never asked how much my co-star is paid. For many years, there has been a certain growth of business because the main lead is a hero, an actor is the protagonist. The audience is used to seeing certain kind of films.”

Arjun doesn’t like calling a female lead as a women-centric film; he believes that if a female protagonist based film will generate business, it is so obvious to say that she will get paid more in her next film. “I hate calling it a woman-centric film, but, for example, if ‘Raazi’ does well, Alia Bhatt will be paid a lot of money for her next film. Like ‘NH 10’ works, Anushka Sharma’s salary will change. It is a sensitive thing to discuss, people’s prices; I find it very crass and rude. I feel this conversation leads nowhere as no one knows the truth except the bank manager and those who make the contract,” said Mr Kapoor.
