Kaun Banega Crorepati season 9 is already topping TRP charts and now there’s another reason to rejoice for the show. The show hosted by Big B, Amitabh Bachchan has always proved to an inspiration to others.

Offering a window to win seven crore, the show hadn’t yet seen a big winner until last night. Anamika Mazumdar, a resident of Jamshedpur and a social worker broke the ice and finally became the first crorepati of the season.

Mrs Mazumdar had reached the jackpot level – Rs 7 crore question, but instead of taking the risk, she decided to quit and settle in for Rs 1 crore. Undoubtedly, it was a wise decision by the iron lady.

According to a source, “Anamika was a very practical and reasonable kind of a person who took each question very seriously. When she reached the crore mark, even with no lifeline left, she reasoned all the options before choosing the right answer. Even Big B was surprised with her confidence and risk-taking attitude.”

The source further added, “Anamika’s mother was against her taking the bet, as, without a lifeline, she was up for a very big risk. It was her knowledge and reasoning skills that made her win. Both women were left in tears with happiness and excitement. Her mother hugged her tight, pride shining on her face. It was a big moment of joy for the entire team as they finally got their crorepati.”

Insights from Anmakia’s Majumdar reveal, she is a married woman with two kids. A social worker by profession, Majumdar runs an NGO in Jamshedpur and was said to invest the money earned by KBC in the organisation that works for rural areas of Jharkhand.
